Welcome to TeachNZ and our latest information on teaching and teacher education in New Zealand.

We're aiming to help three different audiences with the information on our website:

New Zealand citizens and permanent residents thinking of becoming a teacher
Overseas trained teachers considering teaching in New Zealand
Returning teachers – either New Zealand teachers currently overseas thinking of returning or those living in New Zealand who've been out of the workforce for a while.

Career Changer scholarships for study in 2010 have now closed. Graduate scholarships for study in 2010 will open on 1 January 2010 and close on 1 February 2010. Information about how to apply will be available from 1 December 2009.
